Ms. Wei Haiyun, a Falun Gong practitioner in Xi’an, Shaanxi, was persecuted to the point of being critically ill
(Rights Protection Network Information Center report) On September 10, 2026, this website learned that Wei Haiyun, a Falun Gong practitioner from the western suburbs of Xi’an, Shaanxi, was arrested by police from the Tumen Police Station in Lianhu District, Xi’an, in June 2026. Wei Haiyun went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, and the police force-fed her. When they finally saw that she was in such poor condition that she could not go on, they hurriedly sent her home. Her family took Wei Haiyun to the hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU for emergency treatment. She is still in critical condition and has not escaped danger.
During the emergency treatment, Wei Haiyun regained consciousness several times and said that after the police force-fed her, she lost consciousness again. A few days ago, because she was having difficulty breathing, doctors had no choice but to perform a tracheotomy. They discovered that her lungs were already severely inflamed. Her relatives said that there was a hole in one of her heels, with the bone exposed. What specific torture Wei Haiyun suffered in custody remains to be investigated.
