Liaoning Falun Gong “Ten-Person Case”: Wang Nanfang and Nine Other Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced to Between Four and a Half and Seven Years

(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On May 5, 2026, this website learned that Wang Nanfang and nine other Falun Gong practitioners in Liaoning’s Falun Gong “Ten-Person Case” had been sentenced to between four and a half and seven years.

The Wanghua District Court of Fushun City, Liaoning, issued Criminal Judgment No. (2026) Liao 0404 Xingchu 43 on April 23, 2026, handing down illegal sentences against Wang Nanfang and nine other Falun Gong practitioners from Qingyuan County, Fushun City:

Wang Nanfang (70): sentenced to seven years and additionally fined 20,000 yuan;

Zhou Shuyou (63), Liu Haitao, Lai Chunlian, and Wang Guozhong: each sentenced to five years and fined 15,000 yuan;

Wang Zexing, Hu Mingli, Hu Fengju, Huang Yuping (64), and Li Shuqin: each sentenced to four and a half years and fined 10,000 yuan.

The so-called “Ten-Person Case” was planned by the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department, with the Qingyuan County Domestic Security Brigade fabricating this absurd case under the orders of the Fushun Domestic Security Detachment in order to seek credit and rewards. Wang Guozhong is a disabled person who has lost the ability to work; Lai Chunlian is 73 years old and has difficulty even climbing stairs; Li Shuqin is in her 60s, has severe visual impairment, and requires assistance when walking. Despite such physical conditions, they were forcibly packaged as a so-called “major gang case.”

At around 5 a.m. on July 12, 2024, the Fushun City Public Security Bureau and the Qingyuan County Public Security Bureau of Liaoning dispatched a large number of police officers to surround the homes of several Falun Gong practitioners. According to reports, at least more than 10 police officers participated at each home. The police extensively ransacked the homes and seized large quantities of personal belongings. Wang Nanfang, Zhou Shuyou, Wang Zexing, Hu Fengju, Lai Chunlian, Hu Mingli, Li Shuqin, Huang Yuping, and Wang Guozhong were abducted from their homes in Qingyuan County, while Liu Haitao was abducted in Huludao City. Those involved in the abductions included police officers and community personnel from the Henan Police Station and Hebei Police Station in Qingyuan Town. None of the police officers wore uniforms or showed any identification, and they carried out violent arrests. Wang Nanfang was beaten and injured at the scene and taken to hospital by ambulance.

Subsequently, Liu Haitao, Huang Yuping, Lai Chunlian, Wang Guozhong, and Li Shuqin were released on “bail pending trial”; Wang Nanfang, Wang Zexing, Zhou Shuyou, Hu Fengju, and Hu Mingli were arrested. The three male practitioners were detained in the Qingyuan County Detention Center, while the two female practitioners were detained in the Fushun City Detention Center.

On December 20, 2024, the Wanghua District Procuratorate indicted all 10 people before the Wanghua District Court. In this case, the Wanghua District Court of Fushun City, Liaoning, issued the above-mentioned judgment on April 23, 2026.
