Today is August 25, 2026, the family visit day, and second sister has already got her queue number. Right now, I am outside Lunan Prison. At 8:50 AM, I called the prison to apply for a special meeting with the warden to discuss in person the application for marriage registration submitted four months ago. The telephone operator said they have reported to the leadership and asked me to wait for a reply at the entrance. On April 12, I mailed the meeting application. Since the prison signed for it, there has been no response, which has been over four months now. On August 18, I sent a reminder letter. According to Ministry of Justice documents, the meeting application I submitted requires the warden's approval. I don't know if the prison administration department has forwarded the application to the warden, whether the warden is aware, or how the approval process is progressing. For the past few months, I have been busy with the follow-up procedures for the marriage application. At the end of July, I reported Zhiyong's outdoor exercise issue to the prison in accordance with the law. Up to now, I have not received confirmation from him as to whether the situation has improved. The two letters I sent in late July—which specifically asked whether his right to outdoor exercise was basically guaranteed—have still not been delivered to him.
Such a meeting has precedents in both law and prison management practice, and is also a protection of the legitimate rights and interests of incarcerated persons. I hope to communicate with the warden in person, so at least there is a channel to report matters.
