66-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Qiang from Pulandian, Dalian, Liaoning, sentenced to 9 years and 1 month, tortured in Liaoning Women's Prison into developing uremia
(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On June 24, 2026, this website learned that Ms. Xu Qiang, a 66-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Pulandian, Dalian, Liaoning, who was sentenced to 9 years and 1 month, has been tortured in Liaoning Women's Prison into developing uremia.
Xu Qiang: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Pulandian, Dalian, Liaoning, born in 1960 and aged 66 in 2026. She lives in Yangshufang Subdistrict, Pulandian District, Dalian.
Xu Qiang was arrested and framed on July 11, 2020, for explaining Falun Gong to members of the public, and was subsequently sentenced to 9 years and 1 month by the Pulandian City Court. On March 3, 2022, she was transferred to the 12th Ward of Liaoning Women's Prison — a “centralized training and corrective ward” specifically used to persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
In the 12th Ward, she was subjected to prolonged physical and mental torture, forced “transformation,” secret “corrective” confinement, public denunciations, and other forms of persecution, ultimately developing uremia as a result of the torture. Her family repeatedly requested her medical records from the prison, but were unreasonably refused. At present, Xu Qiang is extremely weak, yet is still forced to perform labor such as folding paper boxes.
To shirk responsibility, the 12th Ward transferred Xu Qiang to the elderly and disabled unit of the 11th Ward in March 2026, without informing her family or Xu Qiang herself of her actual medical condition. Xu Qiang only learned while taking medication that what she was taking was not antihypertensive medication at all, but medication for treating uremia.

Zion Church said the Beihai Yinhai District Procuratorate indicted its “10·9” case on July 17, 2026, but a planned August pretrial conference and trial were postponed after lawyers protested.
