(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On July 20, 2026, this outlet learned that Falun Gong practitioner Xue Shunrong, who was sentenced to six years in prison, has been cruelly persecuted in Qinghai Women's Prison and tortured until she became emaciated.

Xue Shunrong is a female Falun Gong practitioner from Falingchuan Township, Huzhu County, Qinghai Province, born in 1975. In 2015, Xue Shunrong filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin, the principal culprit in the persecution of Falun Gong. In March 2016, the Chinese Communist Party's Supreme People's Procuratorate returned the complaint to the Haidong Regional Public Security Bureau. She was subsequently arrested and beaten, leaving her covered in blood and wounds.

On July 6, 2023, the newly appointed Domestic Security Brigade of Huzhu County broke into Xue Shunrong's home, arrested her, and ransacked the residence. She was subsequently criminally detained, formally arrested, and prosecuted. On May 8, 2024, the Ping'an District Court of Haidong City sentenced her to six years in prison based on materials fabricated by the Huzhu County Public Security Bureau under the Qinghai Provincial Public Security Department. She is currently being held in the Xining Women's Prison in Qinghai Province. Her sentence runs until July 5, 2029. In prison, prison police and inmates have subjected her to various forms of cruel abuse, including denying her food, denying her sleep, confining her in solitary confinement for long periods, and placing her in a strict-management unit. They have also refused family visits and refused to allow her family to send her items. Once healthy, she has now been tortured until she is skin and bones, with a haggard appearance.

This outlet will continue to follow Ms. Xue Shunrong's situation in prison.
