71-year-old retired teacher from Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, and Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Bao Guiqin, sentenced to five years, was mentally deranged when released from prison

（Rights Defense Network Information Center report）On June 18, 2026， this website learned： Ms. Bao Guiqin, a 71-year-old retired teacher from Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, and Falun Gong practitioner who had been sentenced to five years, was mentally deranged when she was released from prison。

Bao Guiqin： female， born in 1955， a resident of Fularji District, Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province， and a Falun Gong practitioner。 Because of her belief in Falun Gong， she has been arrested, detained, subjected to reeducation through labor, and sentenced on multiple occasions。 On the afternoon of April 19, 2020， Bao Guiqin went to visit the home of a Falun Gong practitioner， and was arrested by the Hongbaoshi Police Station of Qiqihar City。 At the end of September 2021， she was sentenced to five years， with her sentence running until April 18, 2025。

At the end of 2021, Bao Guiqin was detained in Ward Eight of the Heilongjiang Women’s Prison， where she suffered inhumane torture， and was temporarily paralyzed and unable to care for herself。 Even so， the prison still refused to release her， and the police even threatened：“If you don’t transform, no one will look after you。” Later, when Bao Guiqin was released after completing her wrongful prison term， her mental state had severely deteriorated， her speech was confused， and she often sat on the curb holding a slipper in her hand and talking to herself。
