Case Details and Biography of Di Jianchao, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Kunming, Yunnan Province, Sentenced to Four Years

(Information Center of Civil Rights and Livelihood Watch report) On May 25, 2026, this website learned the case details and biography of Di Jianchao, a Falun Gong practitioner from Kunming, Yunnan Province, who was sentenced to four years. The information is now reported as follows:

Di Jianchao: A male Falun Gong practitioner from Kunming, Yunnan Province, born in 1965 and aged 61 in 2026. He was formerly an employee of Kunming Ship First Machinery Co., Ltd. and lives in Xiaobanqiao, Kunming. Because he practiced Falun Dafa, Di Jianchao was arrested by Kunming police in 2004 and subsequently sentenced to four years in prison, where he suffered persecution in a wrongful imprisonment at Yunnan No. 1 Prison. In 2014, Di Jianchao was again abducted by Kunming police and subsequently sentenced to another four and a half years in prison, where he again suffered persecution in a wrongful imprisonment at Yunnan No. 1 Prison.

On the evening of July 15, 2025, Di Jianchao was arrested by Kunming police, who also seized his car, mobile phone and other belongings. Di Jianchao was then detained at the Guandu District Detention Center. He was later criminally detained, formally arrested and prosecuted. On April 30, 2026, Di Jianchao was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 6,000 yuan by the Wuhua District People’s Court of Kunming City (the judgment was [ (2025) Yun 0102 Xing Chu No. 889 ]), with his sentence running until: July 14, 2029.
