Li Chunhua: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, born in 1964 and aged 62 in 2026. She was employed by the Cultural Bureau of Jianhua District, Qiqihar City, where she engaged in fine arts, photography, and literary creation. She was an outstanding fine arts teacher at the national, provincial, and municipal levels, and her photographic works won awards at the national, provincial, and municipal levels; her literary works were also published in the monthly journal Prose. After the CCP began its frenzied persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Li Chunhua was subjected to brutal persecution by the evil CCP for persisting in practicing and explaining the truth about Falun Gong. She was forced to divorce and was sent to reeducation through labor. In detention centers and reeducation-through-labor camps, she was handcuffed and shackled, held in solitary confinement, suspended by handcuffs, forced to squat, deprived of sleep, beaten viciously, and verbally abused; she was forced to produce pesticides without any protective measures; after completing her term of reeducation through labor, she was detained and persecuted for an additional ten months beyond the term. After returning home from the reeducation-through-labor camp, police officers from the Wenhua Road Police Station in Qiqihar came to her home to persecute her. While fleeing, she fell from a building and suffered serious injuries; to avoid persecution, she was forced to become displaced, and police officers from the Domestic Security Brigade of Anshan City, Liaoning Province, beat her unconscious and abandoned her in the wilderness.

Li Chunhua was arrested again on August 21, 2025, by police officers from the Wulong Police Station. She was tortured while handcuffed to an iron chair for more than 30 hours, causing serious lower-back injuries and numbness in her hands and feet, leaving her unable to care for herself. She was later released to return home on “bail pending trial.” Li Chunhua filed a criminal complaint in accordance with the law with the Qiqihar Municipal Procuratorate against the police officers involved in the case. However, only two months later, on October 25, she was arrested and detained again by police officers from the Domestic Security Brigade of the Longsha Branch of the Qiqihar Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Wulong Police Station, and was subjected to framing. On December 8, the court hurriedly held a hearing without notifying her family, and subsequently sentenced her to four years and six months in prison, sending her to a women’s prison. Her sentence ends on February 20, 2029.
