Case Details and Biography of Ms. Qiu Hongmei, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Dongying City, Shandong Province, Sentenced to 3 Years and 6 Months

(Rights Defense Network Information Center report)On June 11, 2026,this website learned of the case details and biography of Ms. Qiu Hongmei, a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongying City, Shandong Province, who was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months,and the details are now reported as follows:

Qiu Hongmei:A female Falun Gong practitioner from Dongying City, Shandong Province,born in 1973,she was formerly an employee of the Xinda Labor Services Company of the Dongxin Oil Production Plant of Shengli Oilfield in Dongying City。She began practicing Falun Gong in her early years,and after the Chinese Communist Party's Jiang Zemin faction launched the persecution in July 1999,Qiu Hongmei was repeatedly abducted and sent to reeducation-through-labor camps for persisting in her Falun Gong faith。At the Wangcun Second Women's Labor Camp,she was subjected to cruel torture, including softening straps、being hung up and beaten、sleep deprivation、and being forced to ingest unidentified drugs。

On May 13, 2024, while traveling in Guilin, Guangxi, Qiu Hongmei was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Brigade of the Longsheng County Public Security Bureau and the Longji Town Police Station when she was telling people about the facts of Falun Gong。She was subsequently detained at the Second Guilin City Detention Center and framed。At the end of 2024,the Guilin Intermediate People's Court held a trial for her。In June 2026, it was learned that Qiu Hongmei had been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in May 2026。Her sentence runs until:November 12, 2027。
