(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On May 15, 2026, this website learned of the case details and profile of Ms. Wang Haiyuan, a Daqing Falun Gong practitioner sentenced to 3 years and 6 months, which are reported as follows:
Wang Haiyuan: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Dongfeng New Village, Sartu District, Daqing City. In September 2024, Wang Haiyuan was detected by police for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was subjected to a home search and arrested by police from the Dong'an Branch of the Sartu District Public Security Bureau in Daqing City, and returned home that day on “bail pending trial.” She was subsequently subjected to judicial persecution by the public security, procuratorate, and courts of Sartu District, Daqing City. On June 3, 2025, Wang Haiyuan was arrested and detained by the Dong'an Branch of the Sartu District Public Security Bureau and held at the Daqing City Detention Center. Between September and October 2025, Wang Haiyuan was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months by the first- and second-instance courts. On November 27, 2025, she was transferred to Heilongjiang Women's Prison to serve her sentence, which runs until: December 2, 2028.
