(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On July 22, 2026, this website learned of the case details and biography of Ms. Liu Qiye, a Falun Gong practitioner from Qinzhou District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, who was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months. The details are now reported as follows:
Liu Qiye: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Qinzhou District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. On the afternoon of December 23, 2024, several members of the Domestic Security Brigade of the Qinzhou Branch of the Tianshui City Public Security Bureau broke into Liu Qiye’s home and ransacked it. Subsequently, the police forcibly took Liu Qiye and her husband away, and the two were sent to the Qinzhou District Detention Center the following evening. Later, both were criminally detained, formally arrested, and prosecuted. After Liu Qiye and her husband (who does not practice Falun Gong) were arrested and detained for one and a half years, they were sentenced by the Qinzhou District People’s Court of Tianshui City in July 2026. Liu Qiye was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months, with her sentence ending on February 22, 2028. Her husband was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months and has already been released.
