Case Details and Profile of Ms. Yuan Xiuying, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Lanzhou, Gansu, Sentenced to 2 Years and 6 Months

(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On June 29, 2026, this website learned of the case details and profile of Ms. Yuan Xiuying, a Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou, Gansu, who was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months, and is now reporting them as follows:

Yuan Xiuying: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Lanzhou, Gansu, born in 1969, with a university bachelor's degree, she is from Ying County, Daying County, Suining City, Sichuan Province. She was formerly an employee of the Lanzhou Minbai Group. In September 1996, she began practicing Falun Gong. During the more than 20 years of the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, Yuan Xiuying suffered prolonged persecution for adhering to her faith: she was dismissed from public employment, detained twice, and had her home raided three times. On July 18, 2017, she was arrested for talking to passersby about Falun Gong, sentenced to two and a half years, and subjected to brutal persecution at the First Detention Center of Lanzhou City. She was released after completing her sentence on December 18, 2019.

At the end of October 2025, Yuan Xiuying was abducted across provincial borders from Lanzhou by police officers from Daying County, Suining City, Sichuan Province, and was subsequently held at the Suining Detention Center. It was later learned that she had been sentenced to two and a half years by the Daying County Court and is currently appealing. Her sentence runs until April 2028.
