Li Yufang: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Longkou, Yantai, Shandong, in her 50s in 2026. In the early morning of July 17, 2025, Longkou domestic security authorities used information on Falun Gong practitioners obtained through big data, mobilized large numbers of police officers and auxiliary police from multiple police stations, and drove private cars to lie in wait outside practitioners’ homes and at places they frequently visited, carrying out arrests according to a list. At 8 a.m. that morning, officers from the domestic security brigade and the Development Zone Police Station lay in wait at the Dawang Fair in Xufu and arrested Falun Gong practitioners Cui Xiuju, Luan Yanping, and Li Yufang, who were speaking about Falun Gong. They were immediately detained at the Yantai Detention Center and criminally detained. They were later formally arrested and prosecuted. The three were tried on January 23, 2026. On March 13, 2026, Cui Xiuju and Luan Yanping were sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison and fined 20,000 yuan; Li Yufang was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. Li Yufang’s sentence runs until January 16, 2028.
