Zhang Bo: A male citizen of Dashiqiao, Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. His parents, Zhang Yuzhen and Gong Suyan, are both Falun Gong practitioners, and the family lives in Dongzhi Village, Yong'an Town, Dashiqiao City.
The Dashiqiao City Public Security Bureau conducted mobile-phone surveillance and tracking of local Falun Gong practitioners for as long as six months, and carried out a coordinated arrest operation on November 25, 2025. The criminal police brigade alone dispatched more than 20 police officers.
On November 25, 2025, Zhang Yuzhen and his wife, Gong Suyan (72), as well as their son Zhang Bo, who did not practice, were forcibly arrested and their home was raided after police broke into it. Zhang Bo's arrest constituted unlawful collective punishment because his parents were Falun Gong practitioners. The male practitioners who were abducted were detained at the Dashiqiao City Detention Center, while the female practitioners were detained at the Yingkou City Detention Center. They were then all placed under criminal detention, followed by formal arrest and prosecution. On July 16 and 17, 2026, the Zhanqian District Court held hearings in the case on two consecutive days, and on August 11 issued Criminal Judgment No. (2026) Liao 0802 Xing Chu 72. Zhang Bo was sentenced to 1 year and 3 months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan; sentence expiry: February 24, 2027.
