Su Ziming (Wang Lin's Wife): Public Appeal for the Immediate Release of Pastor Wang Lin Without Charge

By Weiquan Information CenterPublished Jul 5, 2026

Greetings, everyone.

I am Su Ziming, the wife of Pastor Wang Lin of Zion Church.

Recently, outside media have successively reported the release of Pastor Jin Mingri, the senior pastor of Zion Church. As a family member of a pastor who remains detained in the same case, my children and I felt both excited, comforted and grateful when we saw these reports, and we are even more eagerly hoping that my husband, Pastor Wang Lin, can regain his freedom soon.

I thank everyone who has continued to follow the Zion Church case and pray for, spoken out for and provided assistance to the detained pastors and brothers and sisters.

I also especially thank the US government, the US Embassy, the embassies of various countries and the international community for their continued attention to religious freedom and basic human rights.

However, my husband, Pastor Wang Lin, as a pastor in the same case, remains detained in a detention center and continues to face unjust accusations and prolonged suffering.

I want to issue a public appeal once again:

My husband Wang Lin is innocent.

He is a Christian pastor, and what he did was to pastor the church, train ministers and serve believers. He committed no crime. Faith is not a crime, pastoring is not a crime, and the church's normal offerings are certainly not fraud. Seminary tuition is not illegal business operations.

When Wang Lin was arrested on October 9, the relevant personnel showed him my arrest notice and threatened him with regard to the safety of me and our two children. At the same time, they threatened him by saying that he was not allowed to hire a lawyer or change his statement, and coerced him into admitting guilt, accepting punishment and signing a confession.

At the time, Wang Lin did not know that this was a case targeting multiple pastors and co-workers of Zion Church; he thought it targeted only our family. As a husband and a father, he was worried that his wife and children would be implicated and, under enormous psychological pressure and helplessness, was forced to sign the relevant documents.

But I must solemnly state:

This was not his true intention, nor does it mean that he admitted he was guilty.

As a wife and the mother of two children, I earnestly appeal:

Please immediately release my husband, Pastor Wang Lin, without charge! Release these eight pastors!

We earnestly ask President Trump and his US government, the US Embassy, the embassies of various countries, the international community and all those who care about freedom of belief to continue to follow Pastor Wang Lin and the eight detained pastors from Zion Church, and to continue helping everyone who remains detained to regain their freedom soon.

We also earnestly ask churches around the world to continue to watch over and pray until Pastor Wang Lin and all the pastors, brothers and sisters who remain detained are free.

May justice be revealed, and may the innocent be released.
