Urgent Attention: Beijing Human Rights Defender and COVID-19 Vaccine Victim Mr. Qian Dalong Subjected to Forced Disappearance

(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On May 9, 2026, this website learned: Mr. Qian Dalong, a Beijing human rights defender, resident of Beijing’s Chaoyang District, and COVID-19 vaccine victim, has been out of contact since he was summoned by personnel from the Guanzhuang Police Station in Chaoyang District at 23:00 on May 7, 2026.

Qian Dalong suffered a second-degree physical disability and various sequelae, including cerebral infarction, as a result of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. He has now been subjected to long-term online abuse, systematic false accusations and framing, insults, and defamation by illegal criminal gangs, ultimately being driven to a mental breakdown and attempting suicide.

Profile of Qian Dalong: A Beijing human rights defender, resident of Chaoyang District, and COVID-19 vaccine victim, he was suppressed and persecuted for exposing deaths, illnesses, and disabilities caused by COVID-19 vaccines and for seeking redress, having been criminally detained twice and released on bail. Unable to work normally because of illness and disability, lacking medical care and medicine, and living in extreme hardship, he says the Beijing municipal government can only pass the buck, suppress and persecute people, and prohibit them from speaking out when it comes to resolving the problems of vaccine victims.

Qian Dalong is convinced that his misfortune was caused by the aftereffects of COVID-19 vaccines. In order to seek justice, he has held the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the National Public Complaints and Proposals Administration, and other departments accountable, and, together with other people suspected of suffering vaccine-related aftereffects, protested at China’s National Health Commission. During this year’s “Two Sessions,” Qian Dalong once again became a target of the authorities’ stability-maintenance efforts. During this year’s Two Sessions, he was again restricted in his personal freedom, with police on duty around the clock. He said that he welcomed NPC deputies, CPPCC members, and journalist friends to visit his home and observe how vaccine victims survive under such a high-pressure social environment. During the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, Qian Dalong was again subjected to close surveillance.

The “Proposal Calling for the Establishment of a ‘COVID-19 Vaccine Injury Protection and Assistance Mechanism,’” drafted by Qian Dalong and others, collected cases of nearly 3,000 people who developed leukemia after receiving COVID-19 vaccines. Many other cases involved Type 1 diabetes. They demanded that the government establish a special relief fund to cover the initial medical treatment of abnormal reactions to vaccinations, including full compensation for accommodation, living expenses, lost wages, and other costs during the treatment period.

However, the demands of COVID-19 vaccine victims have been ignored by the Chinese Communist authorities, and those who raise questions have been subjected to further persecution by the authorities. These COVID-19 vaccine victim whistleblowers—including Qian Dalong, who was criminally detained twice and released on bail; Liang Xiaoqiang, who was criminally detained twice and sentenced; Wang Hongyi, who was sentenced to six months and has been released; Wu Song, who was criminally detained and released on bail; and Wang Jiafu, Wang Ping, Tang Xuelian, Yang An, and Peng Lu, who were criminally detained and subsequently released on bail—have faced a Chinese Communist government that only suppresses people, does not resolve problems, and only deals with the people involved.
