Early Rain Covenant Church Sunday Service Surrounded by Police; Several People Taken Away by Police
On June 14, 2026, this outlet learned that at around 11 a.m. today, worshippers at the Early Rain Covenant Church were suddenly surrounded and raided by 50 to 60 police officers during their Sunday service. Large numbers of law-enforcement personnel poured into the site, and the atmosphere became extremely tense for a time.
According to people at the scene, after police recorded the identity-card information of all the congregation members, they brought in buses and multiple police vehicles and began forcibly taking the worshippers one by one to the local police station.
As of now, Elder Yan Hong, Elder Wu Qing, Brother Liu Yingxu, Brother Nie Bo, Brother Li Benli, Brother A Xin and others have been taken away by police. In addition, a large number of Christians at the scene, including several young children, were also successively forced onto buses and into police vehicles.
