(Rights Defense Network Information Center report)On June 15, 2026,this outlet learned:At 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026,an offline gathering of the Early Rain Covenant Church in Jiangyou City was suddenly surrounded and raided by multiple local government departments。At least 60 or 70 government officials, including political-security personnel、police、special police、the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau, and township-level grassroots officials, broke into the site and forcibly took control of the gathering。The brothers and sisters who were taken to the detention center for questioning,except for Elder Yan Hong and Elder Wu Wuqing,were all successively released。
The news received today is that preacher Wu Wuqing was placed under administrative detention for 15 days,Elder Yan Hong was placed under administrative detention for 14 days,on charges of organizing an illegal assembly。
