Niu Tengyu’s Mother: Why Must the Perpetrators of This Wrongful Conviction Put Me to Death No Matter What?
My son Niu Tengyu was wrongly imprisoned, I was persecuted when I appealed his injustice, and I was also persecuted when I did not, Why must the perpetrators of this wrongful conviction put me to death no matter what?
I am Niu Tengyu’s mother。Today, I summoned all my courage, and wrote these words with trembling hands。Kind friends, after reading this, please help me repost it, not for my sake, but for my son, who is still in prison, and for the millions of ordinary families like ours。
In August 2019, the moment my son Niu Tengyu was taken away, my entire world collapsed。I live in Jiaozuo, Henan, a thousand li away from Guangdong, and had absolutely no idea what had happened, what they would do to my son, or even whether he was alive or dead。Not long afterward, the COVID-19 pandemic began。Because of the domestic lockdown policies, I was unable to travel around seeking help for my son。Since I had no idea what my son had suffered, or whether he had been treated unjustly, I did not post any appeals for help during that period, did not contact the media, and certainly did not “defend my rights”。At that time, all I could do was pray at home every day, silently waiting for news of my son。
Yet I, a person who was silent and patient and had done nothing at all, was subjected to an extremely vicious assassination attempt!I suffered serious injuries in multiple parts of my body and narrowly escaped death。This incident was publicly reported by media outlets including The Epoch Times, in black and white and plain to see。I had done nothing to anyone, I only wanted to quietly wait for news of my son, so why was even this most basic path blocked off?
What chills me even more is that since then, online abuse and telephone harassment have never stopped。
On X(Twitter), hordes of fifty-cent trolls have descended in waves, hurling obscenities, threats, rumors, and doctored images, like rabid dogs。Many of those who called to abuse me were from Guangdong and Jincheng, Shanxi, places completely unrelated to my home jurisdiction for stability maintenance in Henan, so why would they travel a thousand li to “show concern” for me?They were simply being paid to do a job。
Some people privately messaged me with “kind” advice:“If you behave yourself and stop defending your rights, no one will harass you anymore。” Hearing this, I felt a chill in my heart。 When I had not been defending my rights at all, why did you send people to assassinate me?As a result of the attack, I still cannot squat down on my right leg。
Niu Tengyu’s father is far away in Jincheng, Shanxi, and is even more honest and law-abiding in this matter。After his son was arrested, he did not leave home at all during the first three years and did nothing to defend his rights。Yet the so-called “stability-maintenance personnel”, led by the anti-fraud center, directly froze his mobile phone number, harassed and threatened him in rotation, and cut off his livelihood, making it completely impossible for him to continue his business and survive, only then was he forced to embark on the path of defending his rights。
Look, what does this show? They do not care at all whether you defend your rights, what they care about is——whether you know the truth, and whether you dare to speak it out。As long as you are still alive and still thinking about your son, they will certainly drive you toward death。
It has been more than six years, and my son is still suffering inside。As a mother, worry has caused almost all my hair to fall out, and I cannot sleep at night, because every time I close my eyes I remember my son as a child, lying in my arms and calling “Mom” in his baby voice。Although I still face endless online abuse and threats every day, I cannot collapse, because if I do, who will appeal the injustice done to my child?
I have not set myself against the Party organization led by Gu Jia, I am only an ordinary woman who wants her son to come home。 If you are also parents, please help me repost this tweet, so that more people can see what our family has suffered。 We are not asking for special privileges, only for the most basic justice:restore my son’s good name and restore peace to our family。
Son,Mom is still waiting for you。 No matter how many trolls, hidden arrows, and threats lie ahead, I will grit my teeth and hold on。Because you are forever the beloved treasure in your mother’s heart, and I will never give up。
