Li Xin (husband of He Fangmei): An account of our eight-year effort to seek redress after our child became disabled following vaccination

It has been eight years since our child became disabled after receiving a vaccination. Over these eight years, as the child’s parents, we have used almost all our strength, but the matter of our child’s vaccine-related disability still has not been resolved. The relevant authorities continue to drag it out. After serving five years in prison, I asked the relevant authorities for the assessment materials, but they refused, saying I should go to the Political and Legal Affairs Commission. However, I could not meet anyone from the Political and Legal Affairs Commission either. When I met with the municipal Party secretary and said that the child needed an assessment, the secretary told the Health Commission to handle it. In the end, the Health Commission said that the deadline had passed and refused to conduct the assessment. We appealed to the relevant authorities, but our case was treated as a petition, and to this day there has still been no result.

Both of us have been imprisoned, and the child’s rehabilitation treatment has been delayed all this time. The child said that when we were away, they too felt as though they were in prison. The child still cannot care for herself, yet instead of solving the problem, they want to deal with the people who raised it.In the past, we repeatedly spoke publicly about the harm caused by vaccines, but it was constantly covered up and suppressed. After being released from prison, I discovered that another group had joined the rights-defense community: victims of COVID-19 vaccines. But this naturally cannot attract the attention of the relevant authorities. We do not want the tragedy to be repeated. We yearn to be treated fairly and impartially, and we await the day when the sunlight of justice shines across the land.

We have also always believed that rights are never secured through charity; only struggle can win them! For the sake of our child, as long as life continues, the fight will continue. This is in commemoration!
