Three People, Including Yu Shaolin, Li Qun and Luo Ping, in the Kunming Shijixincheng Church Case Have Been Formally Arrested

This outlet learned that on April 12, 2026, authorities raided the Shijixincheng Church in Kunming, Yunnan, during a Sunday gathering, and police took away three people: Yu Shaolin, Li Qun (previous reports mistakenly gave his name as Li Qin), and Luo Ping. On May 20, 2026, the three were formally arrested, with the authorities charging them with organizing illegal gatherings. All three are currently detained at the Guandu District Detention Center in Kunming.

Shijixincheng Church is a small congregation of approximately 30 Christians who have suffered greatly from illness and hardship. For them, the church is a refuge. Since the raid, the church has issued an open letter calling for prayer and is seeking legal assistance. Preacher Yu Shaolin is 52 years old. He previously suffered from thalassemia and has improved considerably in recent years. He also suffers from the following conditions: carotid artery plaque, liver damage, poor kidney function, severe varicose veins in his right leg that make surgery impossible, and swelling and pain in his right leg. Yu Shaolin's wife, Siqi, is also in fragile health. She has an adrenal tumor, which not only causes pain but also has led to high blood pressure and high blood lipid levels, and she has been taking medication for a long time.
