The Anhui Fuyang Wheat Seed 629 case is approaching its one-year anniversary, and the three church leaders will stand trial from June 9 to 12, 2026. With the trial imminent, we invite ambassadors from all countries stationed in China to come to Anhui Fuyang to attend the trial of Christian pastors.
The Anhui Fuyang Wheat Seed case will go to trial next week, from June 9 to 12, 2026. Our husbands, Pastor Zhang Sen, Pastor Chang Shun and Elder Ma Tao, are about to face an unlawful trial. We firmly believe that faith is not a crime and that they have committed no illegal acts.
Following our previous invitation to President Trump, we are now inviting ambassadors from all countries stationed in China to attend the trial of Christian pastors.
We have so far received responses from the ambassadors of the United States, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden.
We plan to continue inviting the ambassadors of the United Kingdom, the European Union and Canada.
The letter reads as follows:
Dear Ambassador:
Hello!
We have heard that you are very concerned about freedom of belief and the human rights situation in China. We would like to invite you to come to Anhui Fuyang in early June to attend the trial of Christian pastors. The case is scheduled to go to trial from June 9 to 12, 2026.
Our husbands are the pastors who were arrested: Pastor Zhang Sen, Pastor Chang Shun and Elder Ma Tao.
We are Xu Chao, wife of Pastor Zhang Sen; Li Yunyan, wife of Pastor Chang Shun; and Li Mei, wife of Elder Ma Tao.
The Anhui Fuyang Wheat Seed Church is a Reformed church within the Presbyterian tradition with orthodox Christian beliefs. Pastor Zhang Sen, Pastor Chang Shun and Elder Ma Tao were arrested by Fuyang police on June 29, 2025, and have now been held at the Fuyang Detention Center for more than 11 months.
The charge brought against them is “organizing illegal gatherings,” and the alleged grounds include:
1/ As pastors, they were invited to attend and officiate at the weddings of brothers and sisters.
2/ In March 2024, they went to the detention center to receive home Christians who had been administratively detained because of their faith.
Article 36 of the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China stipulates that Chinese citizens enjoy freedom of religious belief. Yet our husbands have been arbitrarily detained for almost a year, and all they did was serve faithfully: impartially preach the gospel of Jesus and love others as themselves.

The Kunming Shijixincheng Christian Church case will hold a pretrial conference on September 2, 2026, with trial scheduled to begin September 16. Authorities raided a church gathering on April 12, taking preacher Yu Shaolin, Li Qun and Luo Ping into custody. The three were formally arrested on May 20 on suspicion of “organizing an illegal gathering” and are held at Guandu District Detention Center.

Zion Church’s Open Prayer Letter Urging the Beihai Yinhai District Court to Immediately Release Wang Zhong and Wu Qiuyu
Zion Church said the Beihai Yinhai District Procuratorate indicted its “10·9” case on July 17, 2026, but a planned August pretrial conference and trial were postponed after lawyers protested. Eight pastors and co-workers remain detained on fraud and/or illegal business operations charges. The church said Wang Zhong’s bail requests were denied despite severe heart disease and his father’s death, while Wu Qiuyu remains separated from her two young children.
