(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On March 29, 2026, this website learned that on March 26, lawyer Yu Kai, director of Shandong Xiaolin Law Firm, publicly held a sign in front of judicial authorities, filing a real-name complaint against Deng Huanli, director of the Qingdao Municipal Justice Bureau. The sign directly accused Deng Huanli of suspected “abuse of power, bending the law for personal ends and failing to transfer criminal cases, and the crime of possessing huge amounts of property of unexplained origin.” On March 27, when lawyer Yu Kai was taken away by police, the reason given by police was “disrupting public order”; the specific criminal charges are not yet known. It has now been learned that lawyer Yu Kai has been criminally detained and is being held at the Beijing Xicheng Detention Center.
