(Report by the Information Center of the Rights Defense Network)On May 1, 2026, this outlet learned: The family members’ group of the 18 detained pastors and co-workers in the Beijing Zion Church “10·9” case today released an update on the current situation in the Zion Church “10·9” case, the full text follows:

Of the 18 pastors and co-workers still detained in the Beijing Zion Church “10·9” case, they have been held in the First and Second Detention Centers of Beihai City, Guangxi, on suspicion of “the crime of illegally using an information network”, and today marks the 205th day。

1. As of April 21, the detained pastors and co-workers had received written notices of an extension, covering the period from April 19 to June 18。 The reason given was: they might be sentenced to 10 years or more in prison。 The agency handling the case is the Yinhai Branch of the Beihai Municipal Public Security Bureau。

2. The detained individuals have developed serious health conditions, even life-threatening conditions, but still have not received effective medical care; the weather is hot, they are severely malnourished, and their living conditions are poor。

4. In late March, some of the sisters held in the First Detention Center received Bibles, but as the legal team has successively faced severe repression, we have been unable to obtain comprehensive and timely information feedback。 We call for all the sisters to be able to receive Bibles。

5. The correspondence rights of the detained pastors and co-workers have been seriously trampled on: the letters they send cannot be received by their families。 Letters and books sent by their families also cannot be received。

We strongly condemn all despicable acts carried out in the darkness, and call on the agencies handling the case to respect, in accordance with the national Constitution and laws, the rights to which detained individuals are entitled。

May God continue to strengthen all the detained pastors and co-workers with His mighty arm, and grant them hearts of strength, love, and self-discipline。

Let us also continue to pray earnestly that justice may roll on like a mighty river, and righteousness like a never-failing stream。 May we soon see light and goodness manifested in this land。
