Feng Zhenghu: Rights Protection Bulletin (June 26, 2026)

Yesterday I sent letters urging action by express mail through China Post to the Shanghai Third Intermediate People’s Court, the Shanghai Second Intermediate People’s Court and the Shanghai Jing’an District People’s Court. According to the postal receipts, all three courts signed for them today. It is unlawful for a court to fail to docket a case after the statutory deadline has passed (neither docketing the case nor issuing a ruling). Citizens have the right to urge courts to comply with the law, and judges must not violate the law.

The establishment of a society governed by the rule of law and the realization of citizens’ rights do not depend on favors granted by officialdom, nor on empty talk and complaints. They can only be achieved by citizens themselves standing tall, not fearing power, working steadily and diligently, and accomplishing things one by one; in the end, they will come about naturally.
