Gong Suyan: a female Falun Gong practitioner from Dashiqiao City, Yingkou, Liaoning; born in 1954 and aged 72 in 2026; she lives in Dongzhi Village, Yong'an Town, Dashiqiao City.
The Dashiqiao City Public Security Bureau monitored and followed local Falun Gong practitioners via their mobile phones for as long as six months. On November 25, 2025, it carried out a coordinated roundup, with more than 20 police officers deployed by the Criminal Police Brigade alone.
On November 25, 2025, Zhang Yuzhen, his wife Gong Suyan (72), and their non-practicing son Zhang Bo were forcibly arrested and their home was ransacked after police broke into it. The male practitioners who were abducted were detained at the Dashiqiao City Detention Center, while the female practitioners were detained at the Yingkou City Detention Center. They were all subsequently criminally detained, then formally arrested and prosecuted. On July 16 and 17, 2026, the Zhanqian District Court held consecutive hearings on the case for two days and, on August 11, issued Criminal Judgment No. (2026) Liao 0802 Xingchu 72. Gong Suyan was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison and fined 50,000 yuan; her sentence ends on May 24, 2034.
