Previously, in March 2025,Fucha(real name: Li Yanhe), editor-in-chief of Baqi Culture, was sentenced to three years in prison for 「inciting separatism」,deprived of political rights for one year,and had RMB 50,000 in personal property confiscated。 Fucha was arrested in March 2023 when he traveled to China to visit relatives and handle matters related to his household registration,and was publicly sentenced at first instance by the Shanghai First Intermediate People’s Court on February 17, 2025。

Fucha’s biography:Real name Li Yanhe,born in 1971,from Xieyan County, Liaoning Province,of Manchu ethnicity,a Taiwan resident,former deputy president of Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House,publisher and editor-in-chief of Taiwan’s Baqi Culture Publishing House,a well-known figure in Taiwan’s cultural circles,political prisoner。

In his early years,he studied for a doctorate at East China Normal University and obtained a doctoral degree,and later served as deputy president of Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House;after that,because he married a Taiwanese woman and had a child,he moved to Taiwan to settle there;

In 2009–2010,he established Baqi Culture Publishing House in Taiwan and appointed himself editor-in-chief;because he has consistently supported conservatism and advocated separating the histories of Xinjiang、Tibet、Mongolia、Manchuria and other regions of mainland China from 「Chinese history」and classifying them as 「Inner Asian history」(that is, the history of Inner Asia),some of the books published and distributed by Baqi Culture under his leadership consequently held right-wing political positions,demonstrating the diversity of his editorial philosophy;

On February 3, 2020,because of his prominence and distinctiveness in Taiwan’s Baqi Culture,Radio Taiwan International launched a cultural column for him— a program hosted under the title 《Looking at China—Fucha Time》,which continued until it was taken off the air on December 31, 2023;

In March 2023,because he had already obtained a Republic of China residence permit in 2013,he traveled specifically to mainland China to visit relatives in order to cancel his mainland household registration,but unexpectedly and unfortunately lost contact from that point onward,until April of the same year, when the Taiwan Affairs Office confirmed that he had been arrested in Shanghai by Shanghai police on suspicion of 「inciting secession of the country」;

In response to this,in order to help him secure his release and return to Taiwan as soon as possible,several hundred cultural figures from Taiwan、Japan、and the United States launched a support campaign, calling on the mainland Chinese authorities to release him immediately;
