Wei Liping: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Yingkou, Liaoning, born in 1959, aged 67 in 2026. On December 26, 2014, she was arrested by police from the Xinxing Police Station in the Zhanqian District of Yingkou City for distributing Falun Gong materials and detained at the Yingkou City Detention Center. She was later sentenced by the court to 3 years in prison and sent to Shenyang Women's Prison, where she was persecuted. During her time at Shenyang Women's Prison, she was forced to perform slave labor, was fed extremely poor-quality food, and made to carry out heavy garment-processing work that ordinary people would find difficult to endure. She was subjected to long-term mental torment, including cold stares, verbal abuse and humiliation. At the same time, her pension and medical insurance payments were completely withheld, depriving her of her basic right to survive.
On the afternoon of March 8, 2026, Wei Liping and Liu Xinli were arrested and their homes were raided by police from the Wutaizi Police Station for explaining Falun Gong to members of the public. They were subsequently detained at the Yingkou City Detention Center and framed. They were later criminally detained, formally arrested and indicted. On July 28, 2026, they were sentenced by the Zhanqian District Court: Wei Liping was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan; Liu Xinli was sentenced to 4 years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan.
