(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On October 4, 2026, this website learned of the case details and profile of Du Likun, a Falun Gong practitioner from Handan, Hebei, who was sentenced to five years in prison. The information is reported below:

Du Likun: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Handan, Hebei, born in 1984. In 2000, when she was sixteen, she went to Beijing with her mother, Yang Fenglian, to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. While detained at the Handan No. 2 Detention Center, she was subjected to brutal torture.

Late at night on February 19, 2025, Du Likun was arrested together with her husband, Ma Yongxiao, and her mother, Yang Fenglian, after more than twenty police officers from the Hanshan Branch of the Handan Public Security Bureau, Fudong Police Station, and Luochengtou Police Station forcibly broke into their home. Du Likun was detained for about seven months and returned home on September 14, 2025, on “bail pending trial.” On August 19, 2026, the Feixiang District Court in Handan took Du Likun into custody, citing the “impending expiration of the bail pending trial period.” Du Likun was later sentenced to five years in prison in September 2026. Her sentence runs until January 2031.
