Fan Wei: A male Falun Gong practitioner from Benxi, Liaoning Province, born in 1959 and aged 67 in 2026. Fan Wei began practicing Falun Gong in December 2018. On July 20, 2021, Fan Wei was arrested and detained. On November 29, 2021, Fan Wei was tried by the Nanfen District Court of Benxi City and sentenced to 3 years. He returned home after completing his sentence on July 19, 2024.
One year after his release, on the morning of August 20, 2025, Fan Wei was arrested at the scene by police officers from the Dongming Police Station in Benxi City, who had been following him, while he was posting Falun Gong stickers near Wiegner Winery on Pingshan Road in Pingshan District. His home was subsequently raided. Fan Wei was detained at the Benxi City Detention Center and later criminally detained, formally arrested, and prosecuted. On May 29, 2026, Fan Wei was tried by the Mingshan District Court, and in late July he was sentenced to 4 years in prison. Sentence term: until August 19, 2029.

Yan Hong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Langli Town, Changsha County, Hunan Province, was sentenced by the Liuyang City Court to three years and two months after a June 5, 2026 trial. She pleaded not guilty, and her family appealed. Previously sentenced to six years in 2001 and three and a half years in 2015, she is held at Changsha’s Fourth Detention Center.

Case Details and Profile of Ms. Xu Dongyu, a 62-Year-Old Falun Gong Practitioner from Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, Sentenced to 1 Year and 3 Months
On September 9, 2026, the Rights Defense Network Information Center reported that Xu Dongyu, a 62-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Gangkoujie Town, Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, was sentenced to one year and three months. Domestic security police arrested her around November 2025. After more than ten days at a hotel, she was transferred to Jiujiang City Detention Center, then detained, arrested and prosecuted. She was expected to enter Jiangxi Women’s Prison, with her sentence ending in February 2027.
