Li Guangyuan: A male Falun Gong practitioner from Lianzhuang Village, Ninghe District, Tianjin, born in 1953 and 73 years old in 2026. He and his wife, Mo Weiqiu, began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. During the CCP’s more than two decades of ongoing persecution of Falun Gong, Li Guangyuan was subjected to reeducation through labor and sentenced to prison twice. He was detained and persecuted for a total of 11 years, during which he was beaten and tortured in prison, suffering severe physical and psychological harm.
Li Guangyuan was arrested by police and his home was ransacked on December 9, 2025, after he spoke to people about Falun Gong at a market. He was detained at the Ninghe District Detention Center. He was subsequently placed under criminal detention, formally arrested, and indicted. In August 2026, Li Guangyuan was sentenced to four years by the Ninghe District Court. His sentence ends: December 8, 2029.
