Zhou Yanhua: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Hunchun City, Jilin Province. Because Zhou Yanhua persisted in practicing Falun Dafa, she has repeatedly been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party authorities over the years. She was sent to a forced labor camp for one year in 2001 and for two years in 2003, during which she was repeatedly beaten with electric batons as a form of torture.
On August 7, 2024, Zhou Yanhua was arrested while traveling on a high-speed train, and her home was later ransacked. Zhou Yanhua was then detained at the Yanji City Detention Center. She was subsequently placed under criminal detention, formally arrested, and indicted. In the second half of 2025, Zhou Yanhua was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months, after which she was transferred to Jilin Province Women’s Prison. Her sentence ends on February 6, 2028.
