(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On September 4, 2026, this publication learned of the case and biography of Ms. Yan Ling, a 79-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Nantong, Jiangsu, who was sentenced to three years. The details are hereby reported as follows:
Yan Ling: A female Falun Gong practitioner from Nantong, Jiangsu, born in 1947 and 79 years old in 2026. She lives in Tongzhou District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. She began practicing Falun Gong in February 1998. After the CCP began its frenzied persecution of Falun Gong, Yan Ling continued to uphold her belief in Falun Gong and was abducted and illegally detained many times; she was sent to a labor camp once (2004) and sentenced to prison twice (2015 and 2020), suffering brutal persecution in brainwashing classes, detention centers, labor camps, and prisons, until this time, when at nearly 80 years of age, she was illegally sentenced to three years for the third time.
On August 27, 2025, Yan Ling, a septuagenarian from Tongzhou District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, was arrested by police from the Domestic Security Brigade of the Tongzhou Branch of the Nantong Municipal Public Security Bureau and detained in Nantong Detention Center. In September 2026, it was learned that Yan Ling, who had been detained for more than a year, had been sentenced to three years and had already been transferred to Nanjing Women's Prison to serve her sentence. Her sentence runs until August 26, 2028.

Case Details and Biography of Ms. Pan Xiuhua, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Urumqi Sentenced to Three Years
A September 4, 2026, Rights Defense Network Information Center report detailed the case of Pan Xiuhua, a Falun Gong practitioner from Urumqi, Xinjiang, born in 1954. It said Pan had faced repeated persecution, including detention, reeducation through labor, brainwashing classes and more than a decade in prison. After being reported while speaking publicly about Falun Gong, she was arrested with Luo Chuanmei, prosecuted and sentenced to three years. Her sentence runs until March 2028.

Gao Pu appeals for international support for his parents, Pastor Gao Quanfu and Pang Yu, who were detained in Xi’an in May and June 2025. Gao faces a fraud charge and potentially 12 to 13 years in prison for accepting voluntary offerings from congregants; Pang was detained because she is his wife. Gao says both are elderly, ill, held in overcrowded conditions, denied family contact and inadequately treated medically.

Case Details and Biography of Ms. Jian Yicong, a Falun Gong Practitioner from Deyang, Sichuan, Sentenced to 4 Years and 6 Months
A Rights Defense Network Information Center report says Jian Yicong, a Falun Gong practitioner from Deyang, Sichuan, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison and fined 15,000 yuan. Police surrounded her home on March 17, 2026; she was seriously injured after jumping from the second floor and was later transferred to detention. The Jingyang District Court held her trial on June 4 and issued the sentence on August 19.

Zhejiang human rights defender Chen Shuqing receives written response only nearly four months after filing lawsuit over pension rights
Chen Shuqing’s administrative lawsuit against the Hangzhou Gongshu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and the Hangzhou Gongshu District People’s Government concerns his pension eligibility and contribution period. After submitting a complaint on May 12, 2026, and making repeated inquiries and revisions, the Gongshu District People’s Court accepted the case for pre-litigation mediation on July 29. Chen received the court’s written response and defendants’ submissions on September 2.
