Xu Zhenguo: a male Falun Gong practitioner from Fengrun District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, born in 1958 and aged 68 in 2026. On the morning of October 28, 2025, Xu Zhenguo, his wife Zhao Shuping, and four other Falun Gong practitioners were telling people about Falun Gong at the Niangniangzhuang market in Zunhua City when police from the Chengguan Police Station in Fengrun District arrested them and took them to the Fengrun District Public Security Bureau. That day, personnel from the Fengrun District Public Security Bureau also went to their home and ransacked it. Xu Zhenguo and Zhao Shuping were both detained at the Tangshan No. 1 Detention Center. They were subsequently placed under criminal detention, formally arrested, and prosecuted. On September 22, 2026, Xu Zhenguo and his wife Zhao Shuping were both sentenced by the Zunhua City Court to 2 years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan; their sentences run through October 27, 2027.

Pastor and preacher An Yankui of Taiyuan Xuncheng Reformed Church placed under 15 days of administrative detention for “organizing illegal religious activities”
The Rights Defense Network Information Center reported that preacher An Yankui, pastor of Taiyuan Xuncheng Reformed Church, was taken from his home by the Taiyuan Public Security Bureau at about 10:30 a.m. on September 29, 2026, on suspicion of organizing illegal religious activities. His wife, Yao Congya, was told the next day that he had been placed in administrative detention for 15 days. In 2022, An was sentenced to one year in prison for illegally crossing national territory.

On September 4, 2026, more than 100 police surrounded about 50 people preparing for Beijing Jiaquan Church’s 20th-anniversary celebration in a hotel conference room. Pastor Zhou Zixun and seven church workers were later criminally detained on fraud charges, according to an open prayer letter by Choi Jin-young, Zhou’s wife.
