Case Details and Biography of Mr. Wang Yujie, a 63-Year-Old Falun Gong Practitioner from Shenyang Sentenced to One Year in Prison

(Rights Defense Network Information Center report) On September 6, 2026, this publication learned the case details and biography of Mr. Wang Yujie, a 63-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang who was sentenced to one year in prison. They are reported as follows:

Wang Yujie: A male Falun Gong practitioner from Shenyang, Liaoning Province, born in 1963 and aged 63 in 2026. After the Chinese Communist Party launched its comprehensive persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, he was repeatedly persecuted for refusing to give up his Falun Gong faith and was deprived of his personal freedom for a total of six years. In 2001, Wang Yujie was sentenced to three years of reeducation through labor on the grounds of “disturbing the social management order”; in June 2008, Wang Yujie was again sentenced to one year of reeducation through labor by the Shenyang Municipal Labor Reeducation Committee on the purported grounds of undermining the implementation of the law; in 2015, Wang Yujie was arrested after lawfully filing a complaint with the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate against Jiang Zemin over the persecution of Falun Gong, and on June 15, 2016, he was sentenced to two years in prison by the Heping District Court of Shenyang.

On January 6, 2026, police from the Domestic Security Brigade of the Heping Branch of the Shenyang Municipal Public Security Bureau and from the Hunhewan Police Station arrested Wang Yujie and searched his home. His case was heard at the Hunnan District Court of Shenyang on August 4, 2026, and on August 18 he was sentenced to one year in prison by the Hunnan District Court. His sentence runs until: January 6, 2027. Wang Yujie is currently being unlawfully detained at the Heping District Detention Center in Shenyang.
