Wang Lihua: A Falun Gong practitioner from Jiangnan District, Jilin City; female, born in 1953, and 73 years old in 2026. Wang Lihua began practicing Falun Gong in 1996.
On June 4, 2023, while Wang Lihua and three other Falun Gong practitioners were reading Falun Gong books at Yi Fuying’s home, police from the Zhanqian Police Station broke in and arrested them. Due to her physical condition, she was hospitalized at Jiangnan 465 Hospital for seven days before being released on bail pending trial and placed under residential surveillance. The Changyi District Public Security Sub-Bureau, Zhanqian Police Station, and Changyi District Procuratorate framed her and the others and brought them before the Changyi District Court. On May 22, 2024, the Changyi District Court held a non-public hearing for Wang Lihua and the others, and subsequently sentenced her to one year, but because of the severity of her illness, she remained on medical parole.
However, on June 13, 2026, police from the Zhanqian Police Station suddenly arrested her and placed her in detention. At present, Wang Lihua’s physical condition has continued to deteriorate in the detention center. Her sentence runs until: June 2027.
