Tianjin petitioner Xu Yonghong intercepted and assaulted by Beijing police, then abducted and missing

At around 3:30 p.m. on September 17, 2026, Xu Yonghong, a petitioner from Beichen District, Tianjin, was passing by Liangmaqiao River in Beijing when Xu saw someone jump into the water and took several photographs. Xu then headed to the station to return to the rented residence, but was intercepted and checked by patrol officers from the Embassy Unit. After the check found no problems, a police officer with badge number 016805 (a unit leader) immediately ordered several men in black to cover Xu Yonghong's mouth and forcibly stuff Xu into a police vehicle, taking Xu to the Sanlitun police station. The savage assault by the men in black left Xu Yonghong injured and suffering discomfort in multiple parts of the body. When police took Xu under guard to the emergency department of Chaoyang Hospital for treatment, the Sanlitun police station again notified local officials, who abducted Xu Yonghong. Xu Yonghong's whereabouts are currently unknown.
It is understood that Xu Yonghong's only home in Beichen District, Tianjin, was secretly demolished by the local government without any legal procedures, leaving Xu homeless. After years of reporting the matter without result, Xu is now temporarily residing in Fangshan District, Beijing (with legal proof of residence).
