The Fish Pond Operated by Former Guangxi Human Rights Lawyer Qin Yongpei After His Release from Prison Was Destroyed by CCP Authorities; His Police Report Produced No Result

（Information Center of Civil Rights and Livelihood Watch report）On May 2, 2026，this outlet learned：Qin Yongpei, a former Guangxi human rights lawyer who was sentenced to five years in prison for ” inciting subversion of state power”，had originally planned after his release to make a living by operating a fish pond and become a farmer who sought no conflict with the world。But the CCP authorities still refused to leave him alone，sending dozens of thugs to destroy his fish pond and kill the fish he was raising。Qin Yongpei therefore reported Zheng Zhongxing, secretary of the Communist Party committee of Mashan Township, Hengzhou City，and Li Cansong, the township head, for allegedly committing the crimes of sabotaging production and business operations、intentionally destroying property、and dereliction of duty。But the authorities have yet to open a case。

Qin Yongpei posted：”After I regained my freedom，I returned to my hometown to bury my mother，set up a fish pond beside my home to raise fish，and wanted to be a farmer who sought no conflict with the world。On my own land, I could raise 100,000 jin of fish each year in the fish pond，with a profit of 2 yuan per jin，I could earn 200,000 yuan a year。But what I never expected was that the people who had framed me would actually refuse to let me live in peace，and after learning that I was away, they sent dozens of thugs to destroy my fish pond and kill my fish。I will not swallow this anger“  “The report materials I submitted against Zheng Zhongxing, secretary of the Communist Party committee of Mashan Township, Hengzhou City，and Li Cansong, the township head, for allegedly committing the crimes of sabotaging production and business operations、intentionally destroying property、and dereliction of duty were received and signed for by the Hengzhou Public Security Bureau’s report center on April 22，but to this day there has been no response whatsoever，and the same goes for Dong Na, secretary of the Hengzhou Discipline Inspection Commission。Does Liang Feng, secretary of the Hengzhou Municipal Party Committee, dare to act as Zheng Zhongxing and Li Cansong’s protective umbrella？Let us wait and see。”

Profile of Qin Yongpei：Former Guangxi human rights lawyer，he formerly served as director of the Baijuming Law Firm in Guangxi and, together with other human rights lawyers, specialized in providing legal aid to disadvantaged groups，often posting comments online criticizing Chinese officials for abusing their power and violating human rights；during the authorities’ “709 mass crackdown” in 2015, he was taken away for questioning by the authorities；in 2018, he publicly reported officials including then-Minister of Justice Fu Zhenghua for abusing their power，and was labeled by the authorities as a “threat to national security”&#nbsp; ；in May 2018, the authorities revoked his lawyer’s license, and the Baijuming Law Firm he headed was deregistered by the authorities。In October 2019, he was criminally detained by Nanning police in Guangxi on suspicion of “inciting subversion of state power”; after being held beyond the statutory detention period for more than three years, he was sentenced to five years in prison for “inciting subversion of state power” in March 2023；he was released from prison on October 31, 2024。
