Lawyer Ding Jiaxi’s Wife Luo Shengchun’s 36th Letter to Ding Jiaxi Withheld by Prison
(Rights Defense Network Information Center report)On October 14, 2026,this website learned:The prison withheld the 36th letter from lawyer Ding Jiaxi’s wife Luo Shengchun to Ding Jiaxi。Luo Shengchun again demanded that Ding Jiaxi’s rights to outdoor time、buying books、reading the Bible, and speaking with his family by phone be safeguarded。The prison still said, these rights are decided by it according to its “needs for reform”,and family members have no right to make different demands。
The following is Luo Shengchun’s recent disclosure:After more than half a month of repeatedly calling the prison’s administration department,I finally got through today。They admitted to withholding my 36th letter,on the grounds that it contained material they believed could involve national security, prison security, and content detrimental to Ding Jiaxi’s reform。They gave no details and allowed no rebuttal。
I again raised the requests for outdoor time, buying books, reading the Bible, and making family phone calls, but the response was almost the same as before:Ding Jiaxi’s rights are determined by the prison according to its requirements for reforming Ding Jiaxi, and family members have no right to make different demands。
There is no reasoning with the prison!
